Developing leadership skills in network marketing requires focusing on many aspects:

– marketing skills

– sales skills

– personal development

But to develop your MLM leadership skills best, you should focus on how well you LEAD YOURSELF FIRST…which I discuss in this video, and I give you two ACTIONABLE tips to do right now to get on that network marketing leadership track.

Biblical Leadership Lesson from Joshua:

In the book of Joshua, we read about how God sent the Levite priests before the host of Israelites across the Jordan river.

The priests carried the ark of the covenant, and were commanded to step foot into the raging waters of the Jordan. Once they did, God parted the river so the millions of Israelites could walk across.

Similar to the parting of the Red Sea 40 years earlier, isn’t it? EXCEPT for one major difference: God parted the Red Sea BEFORE the people entered into the channel. With the Jordan, they had to step foot into the raging waters first (it was fall time, when the Jordan is at its most turbulent time).

Some scholars connect this to John 7:37,38 when Jesus said, “If any man thirst, let him come unto Me and drink. And out of his innermost being shall gush forth torrents of living water.”

And I agree. But as I meditated on this Joshua passage, I was struck with the realization that we must step out into what we FEAR, with trust in God that He will see us through that which we fear most.

Remember that when God parted the Jordan river, he did so about 19 miles up river at the city of Adam (a dam, but it also means “Man”), which sat beside Zaretan (“in distress”). “Man in distress”

Amazing!

The people of Israel couldn’t see 19 miles upriver, but God was working it out for them.

As leaders of ourselves, and others in business, we must WALK IN FAITH, knowing that if we simply DO OUR PART, that God is working for us 19 miles up river, moving and adjusting things in our favor.

I LOVE THAT! That’s leadership. Jesus told us not to fear the little things. Don’t walk by sight. Don’t walk in fear of that which we’re unsure about. Walk by faith and know that God is doing things 19 miles upriver for you and those you’re leading.

Abbreviated Transcript from Above Video:

I just got back from a run, and I quite literally just hobbled up the driveway. Because I have something on the bottom of my foot and as I was running, it was hurting.

the other day I stepped on something and just got a little something in the bottom of my foot, right in the ball of my foot. And I thought I had it out.

And, um, before I went running, I was looking at it again and I was like, I think it’s out, but I think I still feel something in there.

I just wanted to get out and, you know, get the run done. And so about halfway through my run, it started to hurt.

So, uh, one of the things that went through my mind as I was running was, hey, you know, you could just stop and halfway through this thing and go home.

And I didn’t do that. Even though it hurt, I decided, no, I’m going to finish this.

And the reason I wanted to finish this is because it goes to a leadership principle that I’m very much focused on in my life right now, adhering to.

And I, I have not always adhered to this, uh, quite often in my life. I have let things slide and, you know, made promises to myself that I’m going to do this for a certain period of time.

And then I just wouldn’t follow through. And it was letting myself down. And I’m sure you’ve done that yourself, right?

We’ve all done those things where you get excited about something and you make promises to yourself. I’m going to do this. I’m going to spend this, these many hours on my business every week or every day.

I’m going to do this in my business every single day. Day and week and month and then you know a couple days go by and you just don’t adhere to it

And you let yourself down and when you do that enough times, of course It gets easier and easier to do that.

That’s a leadership in network marketing skill, where we must commit to certain actions, and follow through.

If we can’t lead ourselves in MLM, we can’t lead others in network marketing or life.

Pick one of those things that you’ve let fall and recommit.

And for the next 90 days, go do it.

Okay? And if you want to really be bold, In the comments of this video, let me know what it is that you’re going to do.

The other actionable thing you can do is to think about something that is a strength of yours, but brainstorm, Are you over indexing on it in some way?
